Master’s studies

Master’s degree study programmes last 1 year and upon their completion students acquire the total of 300 ECTS points as well as the title of MASTER OF ECONOMICS, MASTER OF ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT IN AGRIBUSINESS and MASTER OF INFORMATICS.

Enrolment requirements for these studies imply the previously completed undergraduate academic studies and acquired 240 ECTS points.

The main characteristics of master’s studies are the following:
  • Courses last one semester;
  • Number of classes per week is 20;
  • A favourable balance is established relative to the number of lectures, practical classes and research classes per week as well as per semester;
  • Out of the total active teaching class load in master studies programmes, 62.5% are lectures and practical classes out of which 56% consist of lectures in the Business Economics and Finance study programme, that is 60% in the Engineering Management in Agri-business
  • A number of ECTS points are assigned to each course, depending on the amount of work required in order for students to master the course content. The total number of ECTS points by semester is 30, and by year 60 points;
  • In the first semester of Business Economics and Finance study programme, there are two elective courses which students choose out of the offered five, which contributes to the quality of the study programme. The percentage of elective courses on the programme is 55%;
  • In the winter semester of Engineering Management in Agri-Business study programme, there is one elective course which students choose out of the two offered; in the summer semester there is also one elective course which students choose out of the offered two. This contributes to the study programme quality. The percentage of elective courses on the programme is 45%;
  • Master’s thesis is required and is worth 17 ECTS credits in the Business Economics and Finance study programme, and 15 ECTS in the Engineering Management in Agri-Business study programme;
  • Renowned experts with rich academic and professional experience are engaged in all study programmes, which significantly contributes to the quality of teaching in all study fields.

Teaching is conducted in small groups and through mentor work, by establishing direct contact between the students and the professor. The emphasis is placed on stressing individual and creative development of students, teamwork, acquiring appropriate theoretical and practical knowledge as well as using modern technology. Visits of economic experts also contribute to the quality of teaching process.
